Rainier joined Bolder in July 2022 and heads the Cayman office. He has over 17 years of professional experience in the financial services industry, having started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in South Africa, subsequently in the Cayman Islands, and has been involved in various assurance and advisory capacities.
Before joining Bolder, Rainier served on the management team of another prominent Cayman Islands financial services provider for 7 years. Here, he gained broad experience and knowledge across a wide variety of skills, including client onboarding, corporate management, fiduciary services, fund administration, investor services, local anti-money laundering regulations and other regulatory matters, while managing a portfolio of corporate, governance, funds and private clients involved in various investment strategies and structures. As a corporate head, independent director and general manager, he is passionate about assisting his clients in a manner that is concise, personable and responsive.
Rainier is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst. He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, CFA Institute, CFA Society of Cayman Islands (incl. Board Member) and the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants. In addition, he is a member of the Cayman Islands Directors Association, a Cayman Islands Monetary Authority-registered director under the Director Registration & Licensing Act, and holds the Accredited Director (Acc. Dir) designation from the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada.
