Cayman Directorship renewal
Bolder Corporate Services (Cayman) Limited wishes to advise Directors registered with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (“CIMA”) that, in accordance with The Directors Registration and Licensing Act, 2014 (the “DRLA”), the renewal of your license/registration for the calendar year 2022 and the related annual fees are due on or before 15 January 2022. Payment of the annual fees after 15 January 2022 will incur late penalties as described in the DRLA.
To pay the 2022 fees, log in on the Portal using the email address on file with the CIMA. If you have forgotten your password, please use the provided “Forgot password” link/option on the Portal home page. Once logged into the Portal, simply press the “Proceed” button to be taken to the payment options. If you will be re-registering in the same category, this will already be selected and you may proceed directly to the payment page. If you will be changing categories in 2022 please select the appropriate option and the relevant change fees will be presented.
You are now able to renew and make payment on the CIMA Director Gateway (“Portal”) at: https://gateway.cimaconnect.com/
If you will not be acting as a director of a covered entity in 2022, you MUST resign from all directorships by formally resigning from each covered entity for which you act as a director AND surrender your current licence/registration prior to January 1, 2022. Each covered entity must also notify the Authority of your resignation by providing the updated Register of Directors before the surrender of your licence/registration can be completed. Surrendering of your licence/registration can only be done on the Portal at the above link.
Note that failure to complete the surrender process prior to the start of the next calendar year i.e. 1 January 2022, will make the 2022 fees mandatory and those will need to be paid before surrendering.
In order to “Surrender”, press the “View current licence/registration” button followed by the “Change category or Surrender” button. Do note the surrender option will only be available once all required outstanding fees and penalties (if applicable) have been paid. The surrender request should also confirm the following within the Portal:
- that you have resigned as a director of all covered entities;
- that you no longer plan to act as a director on covered entities; and
- that if you would like to act on any other covered entity or wish to resume directorship services after you have surrendered your registration/licence, you will need to re-apply under The Directors Registration and Licensing Act, 2014.
